Ninja vs. Vitamix Round 1
Ninja with DUO Auto-iQ BL642 vs. Vitamix Ascent Series A3500
Ninja with Duo Auto-iQ BL642
The Ninja BL642 is a blender that comes with a removable blade and 9-cup plastic container and uses 1500 watts. It has touchpad controls that help you choose one of three speeds, an Auto-iQ preset that you can use to make purees, smoothies, and pulse. It also includes two blending Auto-iQ preset buttons.
The blender uses Auto-iQ technology, which can sense the type of cup you’ve placed on the motor jar, then turns the appropriate preset.
The Ninja BL642 is a rather tall blender, standing at a height of 18 inches. You may have an issue placing it under cabinets. It comes in black color only and has a one-year warranty.
Vitamix Ascent Series A3500
The Vitamix A3500 has an 8-cup plastic jar and is powered with 1,640 watts. It has a dial that you use to choose between 15 speeds, but you can also use the LCD touch screen for presets, which include frozen desserts, smoothies, hot soups, dips, and self-cleaning.
The blender has a way of automatically recognizing the container and picking the best preset. You may want to purchase an 8-ounce and 20-ounce cup to use with it, as well. However, prepare to use an adapter with them, and for additional expenses.
The Vitamix has a timer you can set for custom recipes. This will make the blender turn off automatically. It has wireless technology so you can use Vitamix’s app to download updates and recipes. It stands at 17 inches, which is a bit too tall for most countertops, but it can fit under some. You can get it in white, black, red, graphite metal, stainless steel, and copper. The unit is protected with a 10-year warranty.
Here’s what can be noticed when you do the Ninja vs. Vitamix test with these two models.
The Vitamix shows why it costs so much more, even at a first glance. It is made from much more durable materials, and the longer warranty proves that. While the manufacturer guarantees you can use it for up to ten years, the Ninja guarantees for just one.
Both have an LCD screen, but Vitamix’s one is bigger and with touch screen options. Surprisingly, though, Vitamix’s cups are also quite stronger, even though they don’t look like that at first look. Ninja’s cups can break after just one fall, that’s how brittle they are. However, it’s worth noting that Ninja’s cups are bigger and can hold quite more liquid compared to Vitamix one.
When it comes to blades, both are sharp enough to make a great cold pina colada, but not sharp nor strong enough to crush ice cubes into fine flakes. However, Vitamix has fast-whirring blades that can heat up if you desire it, creating a great hot soup or puree. This can’t be said for Ninja’s blades, which can’t handle hot items.
Nothing surprising here – both of these models are quite noisy, just like any other blender. In fact, it’s probably impossible to find a blender that doesn’t make enough noise to wake up everyone in nearby rooms. This makes a tie when it comes to Ninja vs. Vitamix.
Both blenders are quite easy to clean and maintain, which is always important, especially if you’re the one that’ll have to deal with the washing. You can pour the liquid from the container to the cup very easily and without creating any mess. They have similar weight, and the controls are equally clear and easy to read. However, the markings located on the Vitamix cup are somewhat difficult to read. This is the only reason why the opponent wins.
Both brands are loved by their customers and people consider them the best brands when it comes to blenders. They are reliable and the customer service is eager to help. However, Vitamix does have a bit better rating on many websites, and most customers will vote for this brand over Ninja.
The Ninja BL642 costs around $160, while Vitamix A3500 costs around $600 without any additional parts. Is this price difference a good proof of units’ quality? That depends. While Vitamix is certainly made from better materials and has many additional features Ninja doesn’t have, it’s questionable if this is worth the almost $450 price difference. Especially if you consider that all Vitamix’s additional parts cost – a starter kit including both the cup and adapter are between $100 and $130, and any additional cup is $30 more. If you want to complete your collection, Vitamix can end up costing $819.82! Despite the product’s high quality, we have to say that we think that it’s a bit overpriced.
Ninja vs. Vitamix Round 1 Winner
After inspecting the features of these two blenders, we have concluded that the winner is:
Looking at just these two models of blenders, it’s very hard to determine which one is the winner. While Vitamix has some unique features you can’t find in other blenders, it’s very expensive, and we aren’t certain if it’s worth the price difference. However, if you love creating hot, blended meals, you have to know this is something you can’t do with Ninja BL642. Still, Ninja has bigger cups that are easy to read from, and is much more affordable. It’s up to you to decide which features you prefer.
Ninja vs. Vitamix Round 2
Ninja Mega Kitchen System BL770A 30 vs. Vitamix Ascent Series A2500
Ninja Mega Kitchen System BL770A
The Ninja BL770A is a 1500-watt blender that comes with four cups – one 72-oz, two 16-oz, and one 8-cup food processing bowl. It has three-speed settings that you can manually adjust depending on the type of food you’re preparing.
It has a thin but sharp towel of blades you can use to create smoothies, purees, dough, and juices. The jar to the motor base is plastic and lightweight. The cups have lids, so you can just take them and leave to do your daily errands. You can even use it for ice crushing!
The blender is available in black color, and it’s 17.75 inches tall, so you may have issues storing it under most cupboards. Also, it’s protected with a one-year warranty.
Vitamix Ascent Series A2500
This is a 1500-watt blender that works with a 2.2 HP motor. It comes with three program settings you can use for creating smoothies, frozen desserts, and hot soup. It is enriched with variable speed control, as well as pulse feature. You can fine-tune the texture of any recipe you choose.
It has a metal blender jar to the motor base and uses thick, blunt blades that can cut through almost anything but might have an issue with creating snow from ice. With the blender, you’ll get a 64-oz jar, and you can purchase two more 20-oz and 8-oz jars.
The blender comes in black, red, white, and slate colors. It is 17 inches tall, which could be short enough for some cupboards, but not for most. Also, it comes with a 10-year warranty.
Here’s what the battle of Ninja vs. Vitamix looks like in the case of these two models.
While the Ninja Ninja BL770A comes with four jars, the Vitamix A2500 comes with just one, and others have to be bought additionally. However, the quality of Vitamix’s cup is much more durable, so the result here doesn’t differ much from round one.
Also, the Vitamix blender has many fancy features and a much more quality built compared to Ninja one. In fact, Ninja BL770A doesn’t even have an LCD screen, while Vitamix does. Not to mention that, if we look at these two models, the Vitamix uses much more durable blades. Ninja’s blades will dull after several years, while Vitamix’s will stay as good as new for around ten years. Again, the difference in warranties showcases the difference in build quality.
Once again, there is no such thing as a soundless blender. This is the same with these two models. They are both just as loud. While they aren’t unbearable, you can be sure they will awake most people in the house, especially little kids who are already known as restless sleepers.
This is where the difference comes, compared to the first round. While both blenders are easy to use, and the manuals are clear, the tornado blades on the Ninja BL770A can pose a problem when it comes to cleaning. Getting between those sharp blades and edges can be quite difficult, and you are risking hurting yourself in the process. The lettering and markings are clear on both of them, so this isn’t something you need to worry about.
Everything is already said about this in the previous round, with the only exception being that the reviews for Vitamix A2500 are a bit more positive than reviews for Ninja BL770A. This just further proves the conclusion from round one.
This time, the answer isn’t as clear. The Ninja BL770A can be found for around $160, while the Vitamix A2500 costs around $500. This is less different than in the previous comparison, but the difference in quality is quite more visible. Vitamix is made from better materials and has a better quality motor. The blades are better on Vitamix, as well. Also, Vitamix is more durable, and it will last you for a very long time. However, since the price difference is almost $350, we cannot say whether this is entirely justified.
Ninja vs. Vitamix Round 2 Winner
After looking at and comparing these two models, here are our thoughts. The winner of this round is:
Vitamix Ascent Series A2500
In this case, Vitamix holds the primate. While it is very expensive, it’s worth the price. It has many features Ninja BL770A doesn’t have, and it will last you much longer. In this case, it’s definitely worth investing a bit more in a high-quality product.
The Final Verdict
Taking everything into the account, if we look at the Ninja vs. Vitamix competition, it’s easy to notice that one brand is slightly better than the other. That brand is Vitamix.
Sure, Vitamix is much more expensive than its rival, Ninja, but it is well worth the price. It has many fancy features other brand does not. If these features don’t interest you, you should know that Vitamix can last you up to ten times longer than Ninja. However, of course, the final choice is up to you. Ninja is a great brand, as well, and you won’t make a mistake either way.
